The New 2012 Bentley Continental GT

The New Bentley Continental GT

For Crewe’s design and engineering teams, the new Continental GT coupe is an opportunity to set a bold and exciting direction for one of Bentley’s most revered names — the Continental. The seminal and highly successful Continental GT introduced in 2003 represented the first step in Bentley’s renaissance and defined a whole new market segment. It was a luxury GT offering excellent usability that remained true to the Bentley grand touring spirit.

Now the new Continental GT 4-seat coupe builds on the success of its iconic predecessor, capturing that GT spirit but with even higher standards of design, engineering, luxury, craftsmanship, dynamic performance, everyday practicality and refinement.

A beautifully sculptured new body gives the GT coupe an even crisper, more defined appearance. The contemporary interior offers new levels of cabin design, comfort and hand-crafted luxury. The seats, for example, provide even greater support and rear legroom; a sweeping dashboard even more style and modernity. The new touchscreen infotainment system features state-of-the-art navigation, Google Maps and entertainment while the latest Balanced Mode Radiator speaker technology and Dirac Dimensions digital sound processing deliver enhanced audio quality.

Bentley’s acclaimed 6-litre, 12-cylinder, twin-turbocharged powertrain now has a raised power output of 575PS (567bhp/423kW) and 700Nm (516lb ft) of torque and this is mated to a new Quickshift transmission which enables double downshifts. Thanks to advanced FlexFuel technology it can also run on both standard unleaded petrol (gasoline) and sustainable bioethanol (up to E85) or any mix of the two.

In late 2011 an all-new, high-output 8-cylinder engine will also be available to order. This advanced power unit will deliver a 40 percent reduction in emissions compared with the W12 engine and will offer a class-leading CO2 emissions-to-power ratio with Bentley levels of performance and refinement.

Both engines are coupled to an all-wheel drive system with a sporty 40:60 rear-torque bias (compared with the 50:50 bias of the original Continental GT), minimising understeer during hard cornering and allowing the experienced driver to control the car’s line and balance via precise throttle control.

“The new Continental GT is an automotive work of art, with superb craftsmanship and elegant, contemporary design. It drives like a supercar, but without the usual sacrifices in ride or practicality. It is a car that you can enjoy every moment of every day.”

Dr. Franz-Josef Paefgen, Chairman and Chief Executive

Donors Add Sparkle to Hillsides Children’s Charity Event “Diamonds are Forever”

Diamonds Are Forever

Dr. Henri and Donna Ford

Hillsides

Hillsides, Pasadena children’s charity, announces La Cañada resident Donna Ford (also a Hillsides’ board member) as its chair of the annual benefit “Diamonds are Forever.” The event will take place in a private club in downtown Los Angeles on February 26, 2011.

“This theme is consistent with Hillsides’ mission, which is to serve children and families that, just like diamonds in the rough, needs to be unearthed, handled with care and made to shine,” said Ford, adding that the event will be action-packed with many unique and exceptional auction items as well as stylish guests “a la James Bond.”

When Ford was asked to serve as the charity’s benefit chair, the thought of choosing a theme seemed daunting, however, “when I thought of the children who are served by Hillsides, diamonds immediately came to mind. Diamonds are the strongest, most beautiful and sought after stones in the world.”

Diamonds come in many shapes, sizes and colors, representing not only the diversity of the population Hillsides serves, but also, the range of services provided by the charity. Like the process off unveiling the brilliant diamond and its appreciated value, the uncut and unpolished gem has to be handled by specialists who are able to reveal the true jewel that lies beneath.

“For the past 97 years, Hillsides’ specialists include qualified professionals and loving child care workers that bring out the best in the children they serve by creating safe environments for them to thrive and shine, and supporting vulnerable families. The services provided at Hillsides provide lifelong benefits to those who are touched by its incredibly devoted staff and volunteers,” said Ford. “I am asking you to help us uncover the true beauty and value in every jewel of a child we serve. To those of you who have supported us in the past, I thank you, once again, and ask for your continued support this year.”

Major sponsors for the benefit include Bill and Susan Noce, Rusnak Automotive Group, Marge and Sherm Telleen, Western Asset Management, Drake General Contractors, Linda and Stephen Gill, Jacob and Clara Maarse-Jacob Maarse Floral Design, and David and Anita Sniezko, among others.

“We are so appreciative to our donors who consistently support the work we do to help restore hope to the children and families,” said Joseph Costa, Hillsides chief executive officer. “The demand for services is great so I encourage everyone to support our event and inquire about how you can help bring some brilliance into the lives of those we serve.”

The children’s charity’s annual benefit will raise funds for its programs and services for Hillsides’ foster care children and youth at risk as well as vulnerable families living in Los Angeles County. For the 19th consecutive year, Fritz Coleman, weathercaster for KNBC-4 and honorary chairman of the benefit, will serve as master of ceremonies and celebrity auctioneer.

Other event highlights include children's wishing well, live auction, silent auction and opportunity drawings, all of which will be complemented by entertainment throughout the evening.

To learn more about this event and auction items, visit www.Hillsides.org. Individuals wishing to reserve a ticket at $250 can call (323) 255-9005 or visit www.Hillsides.org. Sponsorships are also available.

From The Rusnak Mailbox

From the Rusnak Mailbox

Numerous letters of gratitude were received this month. Here is one we would like to share with you.

We start off this month’s mail with a wonderful letter to Mike Bradford, Rusnak/Pasadena Audi General Manager:

Hi Mike,

Thank you for reaching out. Michael introduced me to Andreas Treutler (Audi Sales Consultant) last Saturday and we reached a fair deal on a 2008 Audi A6. Andreas was a consummate professional and provided an excellent customer experience. Both myself and my wife enjoyed speaking with Andreas. During our test drives, Andreas answered all my questions clearly and demonstrated a high IQ for Audi vehicles. Purchasing a car is a big decision and a huge investment, we never felt pressured or rushed or unwelcome. Andreas took the time to negotiate both trade-in and A6. He did a great job earning my business and I will recommend him to my network. If there is any other feedback I can provide, please do not hesitate to contact me. We both agree that Andreas is valuable asset to Rusnak/Pasadena Audi and should be the standard every employee strides to become.

Anthony Ziemann (General Sales Manager, Rusnak/Arcadia) and Rosa,

We just wanted to THANK YOU again for making the sale process go so smoothly on our third Rusnak/Arcadia Mercedes-Benz. Now we have 2 350-CLK convertibles that look so beautiful parked next to each other. Our white puppies (Cooper and Freeway) are going to look so cute in the backseat of the new white convertible....yes they are spoiled and of course we spoil ourselves! : )

Everything you two did was done very professional from beginning to end and we enjoyed the experience. Thank you for taking the pain out of buying a new car. We will spread the word even more here on the Universal Lot and the Burbank Lot of our experience in buying a Mercedes from Rusnak and what great experience it is. I think I have already sold 3 new white ones for you...everyone loves the color!

Again, THANKS...we look forward to dealing with you again in the future! : )

Dear Elizabeth,

My brother-in-law loves his Porsche Turbo S that he purchased from your Westlake Village dealership. He has been ecstatic about the car and really appreciated the great service from Rusnak. Our friend. Dr. Paydar, who also bought his Porsche Cayman S from your Westlake Village dealership about two years ago still loves his car as well. On our end, we have been enjoying the Jaguar greatly and the Phantom is speechless.

With Appreciation,
Shahdad Kelishadi
