Luxury Electric Cars Coming in 2021
What electric cars are coming in 2021? There are quite a few on the way! Rusnak Auto Group has the details. Below, you’ll find a quick overview of the 2021 electric cars you can expect to see from your favorite luxury automakers.
The 2021 Audi e-tron® ushers in a new chapter in Audi history. The e-tron® marks the arrival of the first electric SUV from Audi, starting from $65,900. It’s equipped with quattro® all-wheel drive, a 402-hp/300-kW powertrain, and a towing capacity of up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.
For those looking for a thrilling driving performance from a sedan, the 2022 Audi e-tron® will be a strong contender. With acceleration of 3.9 seconds, a top speed of 152 mph, and adjustable settings to improve aerodynamics, this electric sedan is sure to make a statement.
BMW is one of the luxury segment’s leaders in the production of electric vehicles. The arrival of the 2021 BMW i4 is causing a buzz, however, as it’ll further boost BMW’s already solid EV reputation. It’s based on the 3 Series, and so far, is slated to offer a 530-hp electric motor and an 80-kWh battery pack with a driving range of nearly 400 miles.
Although specifics aren’t available at the time of this writing, the Hyundai Motor Group has announced that a battery-powered Genesis crossover will debut in 2021. It’ll be built on the new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which, according to Hyundai, is capable of delivering over 310 miles of range on a single charge.
Although details are sparse about the midsize Jaguar J-PACE SUV, it’s slated to arrive as a 2021 model and may be a full-fledged EV or a plug-in hybrid — that remains to be seen. What can be expected from a potential EV version, however, is a large battery pack and impressive all-electric range, as well as the luxury of the Jaguar brand.
Maserati‘s goal to electrify its vehicles by 2025 requires a big leap — and the 2021 GranTurismo EV is just that. Scheduled to arrive in 2021, the GT EV is a zero-emission coupe with all of the style and sleekness of the first-generation model. The GT EV is just one of many all-electric vehicles the brand plans to release within the next few years.
All-new for the model year, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz EQC is modeled after the GLC, so it’s a compact SUV with seating for five people. Although its EPA ratings haven’t yet been released, it’s estimated that this model will deliver a 200-mile driving range. Additionally, it’ll deliver all of the opulence drivers have come to expect from Mercedes-Benz.
Porsche enthusiasts have been holding their breath over the debut of the 2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo — a stylish and high-performing all-electric wagon. It’s essentially the long-roof version of the Taycan, which delivers segment-leading charging capability, acceleration, and handling.
According to Volvo‘s CEO, there are plans to launch another EV by March 2021. It’ll be based on the same Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform as the Polestar 2 and XC40 Recharge. The new model will have a more streamlined body than the XC40 and won’t be a successor to the V40, which was discontinued in 2019.
